Summary of Today’s Activities:

Today I meet with all of my classes, so it is considered a short period day - 45min each class. I start out with my 2nd period Sports Medicine class, where the students have their 2nd project due. About half of my students elected to write a paper, but the other half elected to present a timed presentation according the number of people they had in their group. I was very pleased with the results in my second period - not so much my fourth. By the time we reviewed what we had already been over (last week), presentation time allotment, and a look of what we were doing for the rest of the week - class was over. My 4th period didn't go as smoothly as 2nd; for some reason my older students have more trouble with deadlines than my freshman. Only about half of the class (and its a bigger class) had something ready to turn in/present. Since I didn't want to press ahead and get further along than my 2nd period, I decided it was time for a chat about time management and being responsible students.

5th period PE - we did a shortened version of our exercises and participated in a few volleyball drills followed by a mini game to 20. All of the seniors left for a field trip to PHCC, so my class only consisted of 7 people today.

6th period - No class today - No seniors - so No AP Statistics!

7th period  Middle School PE - Since we just ran the mile on Friday and the middle school students are leaving for a field trip on Thursday (my last class meeting with the group until next week) - we ran through our daily exercises and played a game of Boccer. Our new unit that will start next Monday - Soccer!

Reflection about Today’s Activities:

And we are back to a Monday! I always feel so rushed on a Monday and never feel like I get anything accomplished, I'm not sure how teachers actually teach given anything less than an hour! But I suppose that is because I'm always on the run and meet with different classes all over the building- actually being prepared for a warm-up becomes impossible and I think that throws my entire class off! I feel a lot more comfortable teaching long periods, but I need to get over that and get more organized and prepared for a Monday!
